Auris Tech and Fonetti Recognised by AWS Among Global Innovators in Neuroinclusive Education

Auris Tech and Fonetti have been recognised alongside global technology innovators in a recent article exploring how AI is helping to create more inclusive learning experiences for neurodivergent students.

Published in The Manila Times, the article by Aanya Niaz, Global Leader for Education Equity at Amazon Web Services, explores how organisations around the world are using AI and assistive technology to remove barriers to learning and create more personalised educational experiences.

Auris Tech and Fonetti feature alongside Everway, Dami & Xiaomi and Habitat Learn, each addressing a different part of the neuroinclusive learning journey.

Using voice technology to make reading more accessible

At Auris Tech, our focus is reading.

Our patented automatic speech recognition technology was developed specifically to understand children reading aloud, and it powers Fonetti, our AI-powered Personal Reading Coach.

Fonetti listens as a learner reads aloud, giving real-time feedback and creating a private, supportive space in which children can practise, build fluency and grow in confidence.

For children who find traditional reading environments challenging, including many neurodivergent learners, technology can offer another route to practise and progress.

Our philosophy is simple. Technology should adapt to the learner, not expect the learner to adapt to the system.

From technology to real-world impact

Our commitment to accessible reading extends beyond the development of the platform itself.

Fonetti also powers the National Read-Aloud Challenge, our annual free initiative, which gives thousands of children across the UK free access to the full Fonetti library over the summer and encourages them to keep reading while they are away from the classroom.

The National Read-Aloud Challenge combines access, engagement and technology with valuable reading data, helping us understand how children read, which words they find trickiest and how regular reading aloud supports confidence and literacy development.

It is an important part of our wider mission to use technology not simply to innovate, but to create measurable educational impact.

A global movement towards neuroinclusive learning

We are proud to be featured alongside organisations approaching inclusion from different perspectives.

Everway is pioneering neuroinclusive assistive technology, demonstrating the value of designing accessibility and personalisation into learning technology from the outset.

Dami & Xiaomi supports children with autism and developmental differences through personalised learning and intervention.

Habitat Learn focuses on accessibility within higher education, using technology including AI-powered transcription, captioning, note-taking and study tools to help learners access and engage with education in ways that work for them.

Different technologies, different learners and different stages of education, but one shared ambition: removing barriers to learning.

AI should empower, not replace

The opportunity presented by AI in education is not about replacing teachers.

It is about giving educators better tools, creating more personalised experiences and giving learners additional ways to practise, participate and succeed.

For Auris Tech, that means continuing to develop voice technology that understands reading, and using Fonetti to make reading aloud more accessible, engaging and supportive for every child.

We are delighted to see this work recognised by Amazon Web Services, and to be included alongside organisations working internationally to build a more inclusive future for education.
